Singaporean Students Visited Polibatam for Aerospace Comparative Study
POLIBATAM-Republic Polytechnic (RP) students visited the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering/Teknik Perawatan Pesawat Udara (TPPU) Study Program for 2 days on November 29-30 2022. A total of 27 RP students from the Aerospace Engineering Program along with 2 supervisors enthusiastically participated in the activities guided by the Foreign Cooperation section of Polibatam.
The event was opened with a welcoming session from Bambang Hendrawan, the Deputy Director for General Administration and Finance. He expressed his appreciation for Singaporean students and hoped that this activity would be able to provide useful learning, especially in the field of aircraft engineering. Raymond, the lecturer who led the group also expressed his gratitude and said that the learning benefits to be achieved from this activity included cultural learning, comparative studies in the world of aerospace, and building networks or international relations.
The first day of the activity was filled with visits to several Polibatam facilities guided by 6 TPPU students, they are Nabila, Ulisahaj, Haya, Ilyas, Rizqi, and Agi. The RP students were divided into 3 groups to visit several facilities such as the Library, Technopreneur, and Brail Lab. Meanwhile, RP lecturers accompanied by Andi and Alief (TPPU lecturers) visited the Polibatam hangar. Then, RP students enter the class to take part in the learning process at TPPU.
The second day was filled with a visit to Batam Aero Technic (BAT). The groups from RP and Polibatam were welcomed by Ucok, the General Manager of BAT Batam. The students were very enthusiastic about participating in the visiting session which took place where they had the opportunity to learn in maintenance workshops starting from the composite lab, painting lab, and many more.
The event was closed with a group photo session and presentation of souvenirs to BAT as a sign of appreciation.
