PT. Infineon Technologies Indonesia (IFID) Explores Collaboration with Polibatam Electrical Engineering Department

POLIBATAM-A visit from PT Infineon Tecnologies Indonesia (IFID) to Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) campus on Wednesday, 15 March 2023 in room 301 of the Main Building. This visit aims to foster good relations and explore the wider cooperation between IFID and Polibatam, especially with the Electrical Engineering department.

Currently, Infineon in Indonesia has two companies, namely PT. Infineon Technologies Batam (IFBT) and PT. Infineon Technologies Indonesia (IFID). These two companies are located in Batam City, Batamindo area, Batam Island. While IFBT focuses on manufacturing semiconductors, IFID focuses on after-sales and customer services applications.

On the visit occasion, also present the Head of the Polibatam Electrical Engineering Department, Dr. Budi Sugandi, S.T., M.Eng.; Secretary of Electrical Engineering Department, Ridwan; and Electrical Engineering Lecturers including Nina Sakinah Assad, Ika Karlina, Basuki, and other Electrical Engineering lecturers. On this occasion, those present representing PT Infineon Technologies Indonesia include Mr. Sumit Shantanu as CAE Global Team Lead and Zulkarnain as Indonesia CAE Head PT. IFID.

Nina Sakinah Assad in her remarks welcomed to the Polibatam campus. then in the presentation session, Basuki explained related to the Manufacturing Electronics study program and the existing facilities and infrastructure at the Polibatam Micro Electronics Manufacturing Teaching Factory.

On this occasion also, the Electrical Engineering Department offered PT Infineon Technologies Indonesia one or two Project Based Learning (PBL) designs provided by the Leader from PT. Infineon Technologies Indonesia for Polibatam which will be carried out by students majoring in Electrical Engineering.

In the discussion, it was also agreed that there would be opportunities for collaboration, including Internships for 6-12 months, vocational programs, Engineering Lecturers, and PBL with PT. Infineon Technologies Indonesia

Hopefully, after this visit, a good relationship with industrial partners, PT. Infineon Technologies Indonesia (IFID) and the Polibatam campus are increasingly well-established and are able to collaborate in improving the quality of vocational education and collaboration in other fields.
