Polibatam Hosts National Movement of 1000 Digital Startups, Produces Seven Startup Hub 3 Participants – Riau Islands
POLIBATAM-The activities of the National 1000 Startup Digital Movement began with Ignition, a series of seminar activities to instill an entrepreneurial mindset and understanding of startups, which can be accessed by prospective founders in all parts of Indonesia. Then, after the ignition implementation, participants will continue to a series of online workshops through the National 1000 Digital Startup Movement platform to be provided with the skills they need to create a digital startup.
Armed with the knowledge from the workshop, the startup team will proceed to the next stage, namely Hacksprint, to produce product prototypes from digital technology-based solution ideas. Thereafter, the startup team will enter the Bootcamp stage, an in-depth mentoring session to prepare a product launch strategy. Finally, the 40 selected startups will be incubated through an intensive mentoring program entitled Hatch! Program by the National Movement of 1000 Digital Startups for 3 months to accelerate the startup’s product and traction.
This year’s National 1000 Digital Startup Movement will be implemented in 17 hubs in Indonesia, covering all 34 provinces in Indonesia. Regional Graduation Day is one of the sessions of the Hacksprint stage of the National 1000 Digital Startup Movement. During this Regional Graduation Day, 7 startup participants at Hub 3 – Riau Islands who have completed the Hacksprint stage will be allowed to present their products or services to panelists and other stakeholders and witnessed by other general participants.
The objectives of implementing Regional Graduation Day are:
- Showcasing local startup innovations produced through the activities of the National 1000 Digital Startup Movement.
- Hub managers can convey the progress of startup participants from the Hacksprint stage.
- Allowing founders to present their products in front of guests and stakeholders.
- Connecting founders to the local digital startup ecosystem in their respective regions.
During the Hackprint implementation on Regional Graduation Day, 7 startup participants at Hub 3 – Riau Islands had completed the Hackprint stage and would be allowed to present their products to panelists and stakeholders. One of them is the warebox.id team, students from the Polibatam TRPL study program.

This application will become an aggregator for MSMEs that need temporary storage space and owners of buildings, shophouses, or empty spaces, which can then be rented out. This project is also one of the Project-Based Learning at Polibatam, which they currently participate in in semester 3. PBL can open up opportunities for students to produce their technology-based businesses.
This event was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of Batam, Amsakar Ahmad, as well as invited guests from investors and other stakeholders.
