Polibatam Holds Safety Riding Seminar in Collaboration with Jasa Raharja, Astra Honda Motor (AHM), and Ditlantas Polda Kepri

POLIBATAM-In order to increase student awareness regarding the importance of safe riding, especially two-wheeled vehicles, a seminar on safe riding was held, which was attended by around 100 Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) students at the Technopreneur Building (22/9). This event was opened by Deputy Director II for General Administration and Finance of Polibatam, Bambang Hendrawan.

Heidy Mahardiani Gandi, the Head of Finance, Accounting & TJSL Unit PT. Jasa Raharja said in his presentation, “The highest number of traffic accident victims are those with student status, namely 45%, and if we look at the type of vehicle, they are motorbike users, namely 69%.” “Single accidents or traffic violations do not receive compensation from Jasa Raharja, therefore it is necessary to increase awareness in traffic, one of which is by using a helmet when riding a motorbike,” explained Heidy.

In this event, material regarding traffic regulations and signs was presented by AKP Kartijo, Kasigar Subdit Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Riau Islands. Besides, material on how to ride a motorbike safely was also delivered by Christofer Valentino Pasaribu, the Safety Riding Supervisor and instructor of PT. Capella Dinamik Archipelago Riau Islands. In the seminar, apart from theory, students were also taught practice on how to brake motorbikes safely by Christopher in the parking lot of the Polibatam Technopreneur Center Building.

Hopefully, with this event, students can take a role as pioneers in traffic safety, play an active role in following traffic regulations, use driving safety equipment, whether helmets or seat belts and also obey paying motor vehicle taxes integrated into the Jasa Raharja fee. Finally, the number of traffic accidents can be reduced.
