Polibatam Holds Community Service Program: Installation of RT/RW Net Network for Hinterland School at SMK Pertiwi Batam

POLIBATAM-Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) has initiated a community service program which has produced significant benefits for Pertiwi Batam Vocational High School (SMK) and the surrounding community. This program focuses on installing the RT/RW Net network in the hinterland area. It involves D4 Cyber Security Engineering Study Program students from Polibatam for one semester in PBL (Project Based Learning) learning.

“The RT/RW Net network is an initiative to improve internet connectivity in remote and hinterland areas. “Through this program, Polibatam is collaborating with SMK Pertiwi Batam to expand quality internet access for students and the community around the school,” said Dwi Ely Kurniawan M.Kom., Polibatam Informatics Department lecturer.

Chairperson of the Bunda Pertiwi Foundation, Mrs. Desmiati, expressed her deep appreciation and gratitude to Polibatam for this extraordinary initiative. He stated, “We are very grateful for this extraordinary collaboration between Polibatam and SMK Pertiwi Batam. This RT/RW Net network installation program will provide great benefits for our students and the community in the hinterland area.”

This collaboration began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Polibatam and SMK Pertiwi Batam. This MoU reflects an agreement to improve educational services and access to information technology in the school environment, as well as help the surrounding community utilize better internet facilities.

D4 Cyber Security Engineering Study Program students from Polibatam will play a key role in this program. They will be involved in installing the RT/RW Net network, maintaining it, and providing training to teachers, school staff, and the community on safe and efficient internet use.
