Polibatam Helps MSMEs to Scale Up Business with Digital Marketing

POLIBATAM-In the midst of rapid changes in the global business and economic environment, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are increasingly empowered to compete and grow in the digital era. In an effort to increase the brand value and competitiveness of MSMEs in Batam City, the Polibatam Management and Business Department’s community service team held a digital marketing creation assistance activity on Saturday, 7 October 2023.

This program aims to provide technical assistance to MSMEs in Batam City in creating effective digital marketing strategies and increasing their online presence. This is a crucial step to help local businesses face current economic challenges and ensure their business continuity. “Today’s activity to help MSMEs scale up their business through digital marketing is very good and in line with the PkM programs in the Department,” said Secretary 2 of Management and Business Department, Danar Irianto, S.E., M.Acc., Ak.

During this program, participants receive intensive training in digital marketing, including social media management, quality content creation, data analysis, and branding strategies using Instagram ads. “We hope that with the right mentoring and support activities, local businesses will be able to grow and compete in an increasingly competitive digital market.” said the Head of the Community Service Team, Fandy Bestario Harlan, S.T., M.MT.

With this assistance in creating digital marketing, it is hoped that MSMEs in Batam can enact it in their businesses and be able to compete in the online market. “It is very important for entrepreneurs to implement digital marketing, especially MSMEs, because apart from being easy and cheap, it can also reach a wider target market so that it can boost MSME sales figures,” said Ria Anggraini, S.ST., MBA., as one of the presenters at the activity.

This “Digital Marketing Creation Assistance” program was attended by around 20 selected MSMEs. Participants will work with mentors and experts in the field of digital marketing who will guide them in applying the knowledge gained in their business. The selected MSMEs also come from various types of industries, encompassing the retail, culinary and fashion industries.

This program is supported by the management of Politeknik Negeri Batam and the Business Management Department, which care about local economic development. They provide resource support and financial support to ensure the success of this program
