Polibatam Held K3L Outreach to Polibatam Staff and Students

POLIBATAM-In order to increase knowledge and awareness regarding the importance of Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment (HSE)/Kesehatan Kerja dan Lingkungan(K3L) to prevent work accidents and occupational diseases, the Batam State Polytechnic held an HSE Socialization for Polibatam employees in the Technopreneur Center Building. The event, which lasted for two days (14-15 August 2023), was attended by employee staff from the Maintenance and Repair/Perawatan dan Perbaikan (PP) Unit, Cleaning Service (CS), State Property/Barang Milik Negara (BMN), Internal Security/Pengamanan dalam (Pamdal), and the Department’s laboratory coordinator.

In his remarks, Polibatam Deputy Director II for Public Administration and Finance, Bambang Hendrawan, conveyed the importance of this activity for all Polibatam employees to participate in rotation. Bambang also added that this activity could continue regularly every year.

Some of the materials presented in the socialization included basic knowledge of hazards and risks, HSE policies, HSE procedures and instructions, reporting of work hazards and accidents and First Aid in Accidents/Pertolongan Pertama pada Kecelakaan (P3K). At the beginning and end of the activity, a pre-test and post-test were carried out to determine how much the understanding of employees had increased after this socialization.

Nurul Ulfah, the Chief Executive, stated, “By holding this socialization event it is hoped that there will be a real change in attitude and awareness of Polibatam employees towards HSE such as following existing HSE procedures, using complete PPE when working, and preventing unsafe actions and conditions from occurring.”

The following day, at a separate event, during the new student inauguration (16/8), the Polibatam HSE team was invited to fill in the material on Introduction to HSE for new students for the 2023/2024 academic year. This event was filled with material presentations and short quizzes for participants.
