Polibatam Center of Digital Business and Accounting Held Community Service of SAP Application Training Finance Module at Vocational School Level in Batam: Preparing Students to Enter the World of Work
POLIBATAM-The Polibatam Center for Digital Business and Accounting (CDBA Polibatam) and the Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) Business Management Department held a Community Service activity entitled “Vocational School Level Financial Module ERP Training”. This activity was held on Saturday, 14 October 2023, at the Batam State Polytechnic by inviting 30 SMKs MHS (Multistudy High School) students who were students from the Accounting major in grades 11 and 12. The main aim of this activity was to provide a basic understanding of the application of the module Financial Application Systems and Data Processing Products (SAP) for vocational school-level students, which will be very useful when entering the world of work. The SAP application is one of the leading ERP applications. As is known, the SAP application originating from Germany has achieved global fame and is widely used by large companies.
Polibatam itself has a special unit that handles SAP training. This unit is the Center of Digital Business and Accounting (CDBA). One of CDBA’s goals is to provide SAP training to Polibatam students and the general public. Through SAP application training, this unit provides opportunities for individuals to understand and master the SAP application, which is one of the leading ERP applications in the world. Participants are expected to gain a good understanding of SAP applications, which can help them enter the world of work with the necessary knowledge and skills.
The activity was guided by the Master of Ceremony (MC) Anggita and Cinta, followed by opening remarks by Hajan Hidayat, a representative of the Polibatam CDBA community service team. After the opening session, the event continued with presenting introductory material to the SAP finance module application. This material was delivered by Febrina Wulandari, one of the lecturers who teaches the SAP course at Batam State Polytechnic. Not only do they get the theory, but participants also get to practice directly operating SAP applications. Participants are guided by two instructors (Corry and Viera), students of the Polibatam Managerial Accounting study program, supervised directly by the teaching lecturer.
The practical session is an important moment, where students can directly experience working with SAP applications. This is a valuable opportunity for them to hone their skills and see how this technology plays out in the real world.
