The MoU signing ceremony between Polibatam and Markija Berdaya was the signing of the agreement for the internship program in Hungary for vocational students. The event was attended by Wikan Sakarinto (Director General of Vocations), Heru Dewanto (Chairman of PII 2018-2021) and Andre Rasjid (Director of Markija Berdaya). Previously last November, Polibatam has dispatched 7 students to improve their skills and competencies through internship opportunities at the Hungarian company, Gemtech, for the welder and fitter field.
The Director of Markija Berdaya, Andre Rasjid, said that, “This is a new mutual cooperation initiative, knowledge transfer and international experience for globalization that will flourish in the future. In a short time, there were 500 registrants in the pilot project of this internship program, and only 50 interns were selected where 50% of the participants were vocational students and alumni. Currently, Markija is in the process of expanding this program by exploring partnerships with 10 new companies in Hungary. Through the signing of this memorandum of understanding, we hope that we can improve the quality of vocational education and there will be more interest in this program.”
In similar vein, the Director of Polibatam Mr. Uuf Brajawidagda in his speech said that, “Based on a visit to Hungary last November, I saw that students, industries, and vocational schools were very happy with the implementation of this program. I agree with Mr. Andre to increase this program, because the Hungarian economy is currently growing where a lot of investment comes in from Western Europe, so it is expected that next year (2022) there will be 1000 people who can enter Hungary to take advantage of this opportunity.”
On this auspicious occasion, the Head of PII 2018-2021, Mr. Heru Dewanto, said, “Thanks to Polibatam and the UGM Vocational School inasmuch as these two vocations are involved and fully support this internship program. This program is to improve the quality of vocational education in Indonesia in order to get international exposure and European class industrial exposure in particular.”
The Director General of Vocational Studies, Wikan Sakarinto, in his speech said, “We are grateful for the successful implementation of the first batch which was well prepared. This program has great potential and undertaken with the best preparation. It is expected that this Hungarian internship program activity can be linked to the MBKM program (Merdeka Belajar, Kampus Merdeka) where there is a 2nd batch. We really want this program to be one of our mainstays (vocational) whereby we also want to develop similar programs with Germany and other countries.”
Hopefully this program will be useful for vocational students to be able to develop their competencies (hard skills and soft skills) in companies in Hungary.
Greetings Polibatam.
