Polibatam Accepts 128 Students of the Independent Student Exchange (PMM) Program 2023, Ready to Collaborate in PBL Learning
POLIBATAM-Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) Campus accepted 128 Independent Student Exchange/Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka (PMM) Program students in this 2023/2024 Odd Semester. The welcoming event for PMM Program students was held on Monday, 21 August 2023, at the Polibatam Technopreneur Center studio room.
Independent Student Exchange is one of the flagship programs in Merdeka Belajar. The PMM student welcome event was in conjunction with a public lecture commemorating the Republic of Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs birthday and the anniversary of Indonesia’s independence. This year’s PMM students come from various colleges in Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali, NTT, and West Papua.
The PMM program has academic and non-academic goals and benefits for all participating parties. For PMM students, this aims to improve students’ ability to apply national insights; increase students’ understanding of ethnic, religious, racial, and inter-group diversity (SARA) and the spirit of unity; develop encounters and intensive dialogue in diversity and mutual understanding to create a strengthening of unity; broaden and/or deepen student academic knowledge; improve the ability of tertiary institutions in organizing quality learning and managing student exchange programs; provide ideas for internalizing or developing program governance at receiving and sending colleges.
“Independent Student Exchange is one of the flagship programs in Merdeka Belajar. today is the first day for the program participants at Polibatam. In this semester, Polibatam accepted 128 students from various Vocational Colleges. They will be in Batam for 1 semester,” said Uuf, the Director of Polibatam.
Students of this program will feel the learning atmosphere in Polibatam. Besides, they can also establish friendships, make friends, and get to know the cultures in Batam City. Batam is a mixture of the culture of openness of the coastal community, industrial culture, and Malay hospitality. Students will be included in learning groups based on Project Based Learning (PBL). The Polibatam Campus will also learn a lot from these students from various campuses in Indonesia.
Hopefully, all activities and programs from PMM at Polibatam will run well, be made easy, and be useful for all.
Greetings Polibatam
