PBL Process Consultation: Politeknik Negeri Padang Visits Batam State Polytechnic

POLIBATAM-Politeknik Negeri Batam Campus has implemented the CDIO (Conceive Design Implement Operate) framework, which aims to facilitate the application of Project Based Learning (PBL) methods. It has attracted the interest of many tertiary institutions that want to know what CDIO is.

On Thursday, 15 June 2023, Polibatam had the opportunity to receive a visit from the Politeknik Negeri Padang, which was received by the Head of the Informatics Engineering Study Program, Hamim Thohari; and Animation Engineering Study Program, Selly Artaty Zega. Also present the representatives from the Politeknik Negeri Padang, Cipto, as a lecturer in the Informatics Engineering Study Program.

During the visit, Politeknik Negeri Padang wanted to know the pattern of PBL implementation that had taken place at Polibatam, which had been supported not only by Uuf Brajawidagda as the Director of the Politeknik Negeri Batam but also supported by the Director General of Vocational Studies at the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Selly said that the PBL process was like working together on a bicycle to a destination where the front wheel is the lecturer, the back wheel is the student, the chain and the body of the bicycle are the polytechnics, and the majors reinforce each other. With PBL, where Polibatam graduates are equipped with project experience each semester, it will provide experience in terms of good communication skills with outsiders and provide the ability to prepare reports.
