MyInternship and TalentHub, Web-Based Applications Created by Polibatam Students have been Inaugurated

POLIBATAM- To realize the revitalization of vocational education and training in Indonesia, various efforts are required to support the development of vocational education and training. One of these efforts is strengthening the link and match between vocational education and industry. In this sense, Polibatam is the only vocational college supported by the Indonesian Government and the British Government through the International Labor Organization (ILO) in developing web-based applications called “MyInternship and TalentHub”.

The MyInternship application is an apprentice manager that manages all stages of apprenticeship between vocational college students and industrial partners where the content begins from the registration process, implementation, and up to assessment. From October 5, 2022, this application has been used by 6,000 students, 300 industrial supervisors, and 200 internship supervisors at Polibatam.

The TalentHub application is to track student performance through competencies achieved by completing courses as well as accommodating competencies achieved outside of courses. For instance, soft skills obtained from involvement in student extracurricular activities. Apart from that, industries can also take advantage of this platform to promote internship offers.

Both of these applications were developed by the Polibatam Software Team (PSTEAM) with the supervisor, Supardianto (@spdianto), a lecturer in the Department of Informatics Engineering. Hopefully, with these two applications, it will be easier to manage student internships in tertiary institutions.
