Improving Animation Skills, Polibatam and Education Republic Held Workshop on Concept Art & Illustration for Animation

POLIBATAM-Workshop on Concept Art & Illustration for Animation is the result of a collaboration between Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) and Education Republic. Of course, this workshop shares experiences and portfolios, especially in the field of more specific 3D illustrations. Beginning with the introduction of 3D Sense Media School by Justin, followed by showing a portfolio of works originating from Indonesia. Currently, 3D Sense alumni working in leading companies such as Bandai Namco, Marvel, and others.

The workshop continued with a demonstration of drawing illustrations by Derrick. In this session, Derrick showed how to draw the character “Chainsaw Man” in 15 minutes using Photoshop.

Selly Artaty Zega, the Head of the Animation Study Program, said that the Concept Art & Illustration for Animation Workshop opened students’ insights that dedication to deepen specific abilities can make them more experts in their fields. Of course, this is what the industry needs. The workshop also motivated students to prepare the best portfolios and demo reels from an early age.

“Through the workshop yesterday, I got a lot of new knowledge about digital arts. I also see a lot of great works produced by people who are the same age as me, but their experience and skills make me want to train harder to become great like them.” Said Nurul Fathya Rahma Puspita Ramadhani as a workshop participant who is a student from the Polibatam Animation Study Program.
