Batam State Polytechnic Sends Cross-Department Student Delegation to National Unmanned Fast Boat Contest 2023

POLIBATAM-The National Unmanned Fast Boat Contest/Kontes Kapal Cepat Tak Berawak Nasional (KKCTBN) 2023 for students is an annual event organized by the Indonesian Talent Development Center-National Achievement Center-Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture. This time, Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) was again one of the universities that successfully entered the final stage as a finalist.

Deputy Director III for Student Affairs, Cooperation and Alumni Dr. Muhammad Zaenuddin, S.Si., M.Sc., officially released the departure of the final delegation, consisting of 17 students from across departments at Polibatam. The graduation ceremony was held on Friday, October 20 2023, at the Polibatam campus. The competition was held on 22 – 25 October 2023 in the University of Indonesia campus area, Depok, West Java. The final stage was attended by 88 teams from 33 universities/polytechnics/high schools throughout Indonesia who successfully passed the second screening stage.

“Cheers to the Polibatam team, follow the applicable rules of the game and have a good fight. “Hopefully, we will get the highest achievement in KKCTBN 2023,” said Zaen, encouraging the team during the send-off procession. Polibatam was represented by a joint team between departments: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Engineering and Business Management. Polibatam can return to appearing at the national level with the spirit and strength of the team, i.e. collaboration across fields of expertise within one team. The series of activities from preparation to implementation of the competition is an implementation of the Project Based Learning method implemented at Polibatam. A series of agendas starting from preparation demands to foster collaboration across fields, foster ideas and increase creativity, as well as establish good cooperation between fields in one team.

Preparations for the competition started in July with the hope that the team could participate well, smoothly, and successfully and achieve the best performance. Not only for the current competition but also for the Politeknik Negeri Batam’s hope that it can run well in all academic community activities. The competition teams that have passed the second stage of evaluation and will leave for the competition are the Navtech Polibatam Team 2 (Tourism Ship Innovation and Technology Design Category), Polibatam Hydromodeling Team 1 (Tourism Ship Prototype Creation and Performance Category, Leisure Boat Electric Remote Control/LBERC), Hydromodeling Polibatam Team 2 (Tourism Vessel Prototype Creation and Performance Category, Leisure Boat Fuel Engine Remote Control/ LBFERC), Barelang Marine Robotic Team (Tourism Ship Prototype Manufacturing and Performance Category, Autonomous Tourism Surface Vessel/ ATSV Category).
