At the End of 2022, Politeknik Negeri Batam has Become a PTN-BLU

POLIBATAM-At the end of 2022, Politeknik Negeri Batam (Polibatam) which previously had the status of a Work Unit State University/Perguruan Tinggi Negeri Satuan Kerja (PTN-Satker) officially became a PTN Public Service Agency/Badan Layanan Umum (PTN-BLU). The change in status was based on the Decree of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia number 517/KMK.05/2022 concerning the Establishment of Politeknik Negeri Batam at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology as a government agency implementing the financial management pattern for public service agency dated 29 December 2022.

This good news was officially conveyed by the Director of Polibatam, Uuf Brajawidagda, Ph.D. in a plenary meeting that was held on Monday, 2 January 2023, at the auditorium of the Polibatam campus. “The big Polibatam family would like to thank you for the prayers and attention of all parties and their support. Finally, at the end of 2022, Polibatam changed its status to become a PTN-BLU. Happy new year 2023 to all of us, and let’s improve our services at Polibatam campus,” said Uuf.

“Polibatam’s long history began in 2000-2010, your status was a private college/perguruan tinggi swasta (PTS). Then in 2010-2022 your status was PTN Satker. And at the end of 2022, 29 December 2022, the Minister of Finance Decree regarding PK BLU Polibatam was issued. So starting in 2023 your status is BLU. Your spirit remains the same, namely service. It must even be better, your dedication remains the same, i.e. for every student and graduate. What is certain, Polibatam should be more agile to progress and welcome the future, a blessing for all,” added Uuf.

After holding BLU status, the Indonesian Ministry of Finance provided financial management flexibility to Politeknik Negeri Batam at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology in accordance with regulation number 23 of 2005 concerning financial management of public agencies as amended by Government Regulation number 74 of 2012 concerning amendments to Government Regulation number 23 of 2005 concerning financial management of public service agencies and its implementing regulations.

Hopefully, with this BLU status, the quality of Polibatam services will be better and the quality of graduates will be more qualified and ready to answer the needs of industrial partners.
